State Administration Gears Up for Vice President's Official Visit to Odisha on 9th July

Paperman Media ( Bhubaneswar )- Chief Secretary Smt. Anu Garg chaired a State-level preparatory meeting at Lok Seva Bhavan to review the arrangements for the forthcoming visit of the Hon'ble Vice President of India to Odisha on July 9. The meeting took stock of the preparations being made by various departments to ensure the smooth conduct of the visit. Detailed discussions were held on security, protocol, traffic management, transportation, medical preparedness, civic amenities, and other logistical arrangements at all programme venues.

As per the programme, the Hon'ble Vice President will attend the National Launch Programme of 'Letter of Authorisation' to Indian flagged vessels for fishing in the high seas . He will also grace the 15th Convocation Ceremony of the National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER), Khordha, as the Chief Guest and deliver the Convocation Address.

Reviewing the preparedness, the Chief Secretary directed all departments to ensure timely completion of the assigned responsibilities and maintain close inter-departmental coordination. She stressed the need for foolproof security arrangements, uninterrupted power and water supply, fire safety measures, sanitation, road maintenance, medical facilities, ambulance services and seamless protocol arrangements throughout the visit.

The meeting was attended by Additional Chief Secretary to Home, Industries and Information & Public Relations dept, Shri Hemant Sharma, Director General of Police, Odisha, Shri Y. B. Khurania; Commissioner-cum-Secretary, School & Mass Education Department, Shri N. Thirumala Naik; Principal Secretary, Commerce & Transport Department, Shri N. B. S. Rajput; and senior officers of various departments.
