Odisha hosts two-days Chintan Shivir to Shape the Future of Sports Development

Paperman Media ( Bhubaneswar )- The Sports & Youth Services Department, Government of Odisha, will organize a two- day Chintan Shivir from 6-7 June 2026 in Bhubaneswar. 

A first-of-its-kind consultative platform aimed at charting the next phase of sports development in the State.

The Chintan Shivir will bring together policymakers, sports administrators, athletes, industry leaders, sports science experts, academicians, and other key stakeholders to deliberate on critical aspects of sports development and athlete welfare. Hon’ble Governor of Odisha Dr. Haribabu Kambhampati will grace the inaugural session along with Hon’ble Minister Sports & Youth Services, Shri Suryabanshi Suraj.

The event will feature thematic discussions on key areas including athlete welfare and social security, grassroots talent identification & development, high-performance & sports science technology, Private Public Partnership for sports development, esports and pathways for enhancing Odisha's medal prospects at national and international competitions.

Odisha is as one of India's leading sporting destinations through sustained investments in infrastructure, athlete development, and the successful hosting of major national and international sporting events. 

The Chintan Shivir seeks to build upon these achievements by fostering dialogue, sharing best practices, and developing actionable recommendations for the future.

The deliberations and recommendations emerging from the Chintan Shivir will contribute towards strengthening Odisha's sports ecosystem and advancing the State's vision of becoming a global sporting hub while creating greater opportunities for athletes across all levels.

Senior government officials, eminent sportspersons, representatives from sports federations, high-performance centres, private sector partners, and experts from across the country are expected to participate in the event.

The Chintan Shivir reflects the State Government's continued commitment to developing an athlete-first ecosystem, excellence in sport, and building a robust pathway from grassroots participation to international success.
