The session began with self-introductions by all the participants. After that, they have discussed Abraham Lincoln's famous letter to his son's teacher. Since many participants were not familiar with it, the discussion generated great interest, and everyone enjoyed reflecting on its timeless values and lessons.
The session then moved to an informal discussion on leadership, development, and communication. Participants actively shared their views and experiences, making the interaction lively and meaningful.
They also discussed the important role of Youth for Seva in promoting the spirit of volunteerism. To inspire the volunteers, examples of the diverse activities carried out by civil society organizations and NGOs were shared, highlighting how voluntary action can bring positive change to society.

As an inspiring example of selfless service, the life of the Hon'ble President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu, was discussed. Despite facing immense personal hardships, including the loss of her husband and two sons during a difficult period of her life, she remained strong and continued her dedication to serving society. Her life story encouraged the participants to face challenges with courage, resilience, and determination. They were also encouraged to read the small biography on her life that is available in the market.
A brief discussion was also held on the famous Odia novel "Amabasya ra Chandra", which has been reprinted 25 times, reflecting its enduring popularity among readers. It was explained that true leadership is not about power or position but about integrity, compassion, sacrifice, and the ability to inspire others through one's actions.
It was announced that the next orientation session would include more detailed discussions on leadership, development, and communication. Two or three practical exercises will also be conducted to help participants develop their leadership and communication skills.
The session concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Mr. Gyanranjan Das of the Youth for Seva (YFS), Odisha Chapter, who thanked everyone for their active participation and valuable contributions.
