Induction Workshop Organized for PGT Teachers, 120 Sanskrit & Economics PGTs to Receive Training

Paperman Media ( Bhubaneswar )- An orientation workshop has been organized for the newly recruited Post Graduate Teachers (PGTs) serving in Government Higher Secondary Schools and Government Upgraded Higher Secondary Schools under the Directorate of Higher Secondary Education, Department of School and Mass Education.

The orientation program, catering to 120 PGT teachers of Sanskrit and Economics, is being held at IMAGE, Siripur. The inaugural session was attended by prominent dignitaries, including Director of Elementary Education Shri Balamukunda Meena, UNICEF Field Office Chief Shri Prasanta Kumar Das, Director of Higher Secondary Education Smt. Niyati Patnaik, UNICEF Education Specialist Lalita Patnaik, Joint Director Smt. Sasmita Mali, Deputy Director Smt. Ch. Vijayalakshmi, and Deputy Director Shri Jitendra Kumar Nayak.

Speaking on the occasion, Director of Elementary Education Shri Balamukunda Meena advised the PGT teachers to focus on problem-solving. He emphasized that the responsibility of building good citizens for the society and the nation rests on teachers, and it is their duty to guide students in the right direction. Similarly, UNICEF Field Office Chief Shri Das encouraged the teachers to participate actively in the workshop. He noted that it is the duty of teachers to provide proper guidance to higher secondary students to keep them away from the vulnerable activities.

Director of Higher Secondary Education Smt. Patnaik urged the PGT teachers to implement the knowledge gained from this workshop for the holistic development of students. She highlighted that the learnings from such orientation programs significantly help in enhancing the skills and capabilities of students. Earlier in the program, Joint Director Smt. Mali delivered the welcome address and shared a detailed outline of the workshop. Deputy Director Smt. C.H Vijayalakshmi coordinated the event, while Deputy Director Shri Nayak extended the vote of thanks.

The two-phase orientation workshop for 120 newly recruited Sanskrit and Economics Post Graduate Teachers (PGTs) is scheduled with the first phase running from July 20 to July 24 and the second phase from July 27 to July 31. Throughout this training program, participating teachers will engage in detailed discussions covering critical educational and administrative topics, including the implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, gender equality in education, the integration of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in teaching, and the guidelines of the Odisha Education Rules. Additionally, the sessions will train attendees on the operations of the SAMS and Shiksha Jyoti digital portals, compliance with the POSH Act, management of student scholarships, administrative roles, examination and evaluation planning, and methods for effective student career counseling and guidance.
