Saksham Odisha Purva hosted a major disabled empowerment camp at Khandapada in Nayagarh district recently. Among 500 Participants 182 number of disabled persons were distributed life sustaining assistive devices during the august occasion.The noble initiative aims at opening new pathways of mobility, independence and opportunity for persons with disabilities for leading a dignified life. The distinguished dignitaries presented motorized battery operated vehicles, wheelchairs, tricycles, commode wheelchairs, crutches, support belts, vests and hearing aids to the beneficiaries.
Gracing the camp as Chief Guest MLA of Khandapada Dusmanta Swain profusely praised the endeavours of Saksham in empowering the marginalized humanity to achieve inclusiveness in the society. Guest of Honour Collector and District Magistrate of Nayagarh Madhumita Rath highlighted the need of collective action towards building a just social fabric. Other prominent personalities present include Saksham’s National Vice President, Kamalakant Pandey, National General Secretary Umesh Andhare, Odisha State Secretary, Manasmita Jena, Nayagarh branch President Akhil Maharana and Director of SVNIRTAR, P.P.Mohanty alongwith several dedicated activists, volunteers, social workers and community members.
The programme symbolized the accomplishment of shared purpose with unwavering compassion, institutional commitment and community participation. For the beneficiaries, every wheelchair ensured movement, every motorized vehicle assured freedom, every hearing aid enhanced connectivity and every assistive device represented a step forward to lead a self-reliant and dignified life. During the occasion SAKSHAM Odisha Purva reiterated that true empowerment is not merely about providing assistance -: it is about creating opportunities, restoring confidence and enable every Divyangjan to stand in society with equality,honour and esteem. With an unflinching commitment to inclusive development and social transformation, SAKSHAM Odisha Purva pledged to continue expanding its outreach and strengthening initiatives for Divyangjan across Odisha for realizing the ultimate national vision of “SAKSHAM BHARAT, SAMARTH BHARAT.”
