EMRS Mahasingi to Represent Odisha at Zonal-Level Youth Parliament Competition

Paperman Media ( Bhubaneswar ) - In a significant achievement for Odisha, Eklavya Model Residential School (EMRS), Mahasingi in Kandhamal district has qualified for the Zonal-Level Youth Parliament Competition (Zone III), which will be held at EMRS Ozili in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh.

The school earned this prestigious opportunity after emerging as the Regional-Level Champion among four participating EMRSs from Odisha. The competition is being organized by the National Education Society for Tribal Students (NESTS) as part of the 1st National Youth Parliament Competition for EMRSs.

The competition is being conducted in a three-tier format comprising Regional, Zonal, and National levels, with participation from 36 selected Eklavya Model Residential Schools across the country. The initiative aims to foster democratic values, constitutional awareness, leadership qualities, and an understanding of parliamentary procedures among tribal students.

A contingent of 58 students and six escort teachers from EMRS Mahasingi will represent Odisha at the zonal-level event. Through the Youth Parliament programme, students gain a unique platform to enhance their communication skills, critical thinking abilities, leadership qualities, and appreciation of India’s democratic traditions.

The achievement has generated immense pride and enthusiasm among the school community. Teachers, students, and parents have expressed confidence that the team will perform exceptionally well and bring further laurels to Odisha on the national stage.
